The Calstock Singers rehearse regularly on Monday nights in the Old Chapel, and perform once or twice a year here, as well as at other local venues.
Under the Fingers (Cello, Harp, Guitar, Recorders and instruments various) perform alongside and accompany the Calstock Singers.
On Tuesday nights there is a Pilates Session.
Pilates is a great way to work out and is suitable for anyone regardless of age or fitness level. The aim is to help you achieve improved posture and alignment as well as improved muscular balance, strength, endurance and flexibility, without building bulk or risking injury. The focus is on true core stability, which at the same time helps to prevent injury and relieve stress and back pain.
The result – a well balanced body with great posture that looks and feels fit, toned and revitalised – a more flexible body that moves with confidence and ease. Now isn’t that what everyone should want for their body?
All of this is best achieved in small, carefully monitored classes with friendly, guided, clear instruction, starting with learning the Basic Principles followed by Essential Level moves. As you improve you will be given more advanced options for each exercise and also incorporate the more complex Intermediate moves to broaden the repertoire and increase your Pilates skills. Later on, small equipment is introduced to further extend the range of exercises, keeping you stimulated and challenged.
